Around here (Chicago), spiral fries are really thin, like potato chips, while curly fries are the same thickness of a normal fry, just curly (and sometimes spicy)

Awesome — not necessarily what I was calling spiral however… the fries I’m thinking of aren’t a chip, per se… they’re more like the curly ones in the picture you posted, except they’re sliced thinner and don’t have that sort of cajun spice (so they are the same color as the ones on the bottom)…
thanksgiving eve is def not just for college kids, but i agree w kev that it’s the biggest drinking day of the year. although, it could possibly be tied w NYE…but still, i remember the night before thanksgiving was the big day to have plans for going out…at least in the years before i became an old lady.
